When Ricky Gene Powell asked if I could design his new CD cover, I jumped at the chance! I’ve been itching to design an album cover for a while now, and this was my first opportunity. With my experience as a DJ for KBCS 91.3 FM, I’ve been able to note firsthand what design elements are really helpful — as well as what can be a hindrance — to getting your music aired. Problem was, we only had a day to turn it around. Despite the time constraints, I was pleased with the results, and thought Pip McCaslin at Realtime did a great job with the printing and assembly. The front cover horse image is actually from a photograph of Annett Mateo‘s wondrous life-sized puppet.
